Pag cheese

Pag cheese is cheese produced from the milk of sheep which graze on the hilly pastures that are rich with aromatic plants. These plants are exposed to salt because of the frequent strong winds. This kind of pasture is what makes the specific and recognizable aroma of the Pag cheese.

Pag lace

Pag lace is one of the most famous Croatian souvenirs. It is made in the city of Pag which is located on the island of Pag. It is woven by needle and is still preserved in its original form. Pag lace can be purchased from the lace weavers which weave during the summer months in front of their houses.

Island of Pag Croatia

The island of Pag is one of the biggest Adriatic islands: it is the fifth largest island with 284.50 square kilometres. Its 270 kilometres of the indented coastline make it the island with the longest coastline on the Adriatic, rich with coves, bays, beaches and capes. The biggest bay, the bay of Pag, is rounded by 20 km of the gravel beaches. Pag is unique due to its vegetation where trees are the most rare form. Therefore, Pag is the largest kingdom of rocky ground on the Adriatic, where thin grass, low aromatic herb cover, sage and immortelle grow. They make the foundation of the nourishment of the island’s sheep on the rocky ground, intersected by long dry stonewalls, giving a special flavour to the well known cheese of Pag.

Kolan

The central place of the municipality is Kolan who's locals mostly deal with sheep, wine growing and recently with tourism because of the closeness of the sea and the beautiful beaches.

Many beautiful beaches St. Duh, Prnjica, Rogoza with clear and clean sea, sandy bays will offer you unforgettable enjoyment intertwined with the beauties of drywall and stone.

Ethnic museum, old wells, coal mine, church of St. Luke, St. Jerolim, St. Mary and St. Vid are only part of what you will see if you visit this pleasant place.

Good wine, traditionally well-known Pag cheese, lamb, smoked ham and other specialties prepared from seafood will make your vacation complete and unforgettable.

City Pag

City of Pag, the centre of the island, was founded in the 15th century and today is a rarely found well preserved middle age walled-in town. It is the cultural, touristic and the administrative centre as well. The plans for its construction were made by the renaissance architect Juraj Dalmatinac.
Valuable cultural and historical monuments are: The parish church of St Mary on Kralja Petra Kresimira IV square (St Valentine's reliquary and a miraculous crucifix), the old Tower, the remnants of the town walls, Duke's palace.

Novalja

Novalja is a tourist center of Island of Pag. Well known resort town and destination of many tourist, offers possibilities of active and meaningful vacation.
Natural beauty of Novalja is mostly in its pronounced beautiful beaches: Zrce, Strasko, Caska, Babe, Trincel, Branicevica & Vrtic.
